Our beekeeping adventure year 1. (24)

  • Early spring
  • Getting ready to crush our one frame that we collected.
  • Comb built on foundationless frames that Thomas built.
  • Hard at work building comb on foundationless frames that Thomas built.
  • Honey comb that broke when the bear knocked over our hive.
  • We did a split after our hive swarmed and had just brought our split back home and were preparing to put them in their new box after acclimating them to their new location.
  • Early spring, bees in flight.
  • Our full harvest for the year. Very dark delicious honey that smells like the inside of the hive.
  • Gave the crushed comb back to the bees and unfortunately also the wasps/jellowjackts to clean up so we could melt it down.
  • My husband's little buddy.
