I traded some vent boxes for Cody Waldron's honey. This was very light, delicious honey he took before the fair. In his pint jars he put about a two inch piece of honey comb. In his half pint jars he didn't put any comb.
What I find fascinating is that the honey with the comb has not crystallized at all while the half pints are solid crystals. I've got several jars of each and they are both stored in a warm room on the same shelf.
So I'm curious whether it just takes longer for the pint to even begin to crystallize or does putting a piece of honey comb in do something. Or is there some other explanation.... Any thoughts?
I'm hoping some of you who may still be extracting honey from dead colonies will do an experiment and put some comb in with the honey in some of the jars. It was a good idea anyway. Folks were attracted to it.
Let us know what happens....
