I’ve been thinking about old pollen frames.  Everyone has opinions and maybe everyone is right! Huh?

I was at a conference where the speaker said unequivocally to get rid of old pollen frames. The bees will not use them once fresh pollen is available. That’s probably true. Plus pollen does not store well but maybe mixed with honey and whatever they use to make beebread helps.  My pollen frames get very moldy.  Yes, they say the bees will clean it up but it is stressful for them and maybe not so healthy.

I found this wonderful video that turns an old pollen frame into a lovely very usable frame.

I also found this site I think you will find interesting.  I don’t agree with everything, of course.   Hanna’s bees (from Sweden)
